I always had an entrepreneurial spirit, my first business was re-selling candy from my locker in junior high school. The PAC caught on and shut me down and confiscated all my inventory and profits. I guess it’s a good idea to check out the demographic before opening.
Meanwhile while away from school I was also working in the beauty industry I started out by helping my step sister in her salon during the summers. After relocating to British Columbia I quickly found a salon to work at after school and on weekends. I started apprenticing in 2004 and in 2006 I completed my nail technician course. After working in the beauty industry for six years, I decided to purchase the Rainbow Room Hair Salon, we developed the esthetics side of the business and expanded in 2012.
My main passion is being creative! Whether it’s hair, nail art or sewing I’m always doing some sort of project. The best part of this industry is that its ever changing, the looks, the trends, the colours and the cuts. I’m always updating my education to master the new techniques.

Permanent Make-up Artist
Hi everyone, here is a bit of background on your soon to be, beauty advisor Patricia. I started in the beauty industry 30 years ago working as a rep for alloett cosmetics when I found a great love for makeup artistry. Soon after when babies came along, I added photography to my list of passions. I became a single parent, when my children where young, and had the realization that makeup & photography where not enough to create a sufficient income for my family. In 2000, I dove in and started taking every course in the beauty industry I could think of. Nails, Permanent makeup, lash extension, teeth whitening, dermal needling, lash lifts, facials, waxing, massage is a few of the services in which I have studied and am certified in. In 2007, I opened my first shop called Cream & Sugar. It was in Powell River, and it became a huge success! In 2014, with my children successful and living in the lower mainland, I found myself missing them immensely and needed a new adventure… So I was off to Vancouver to be closer to my children and now grandchildren.
